Situated along the beautiful and winding Vermillion River and thirty minutes from Starved Rock State Park, the City of Streator is a delightful mix of small-town America, history, architecture, events, theater and outdoor recreation.

The Streator Carnegie Library was once deemed “too extravagant” by critics during its construction, is treasured today for its two-story domed ceiling, iconic columns and oak staircases. The WWII Canteen Monument pays tribute to the volunteers who greeted and served over 1.5 million WWII servicemen as they passed though the Santa Fe rail station. The Majestic Theater, still operational, is a regal 100 year old art deco movie palace reminiscent of the golden era of Hollywood. The Streatorland Historical Museum chronicles the rich history and famous names of Streator.

Canoe the Vermillion River, enjoy the natural wonders of Hopalong Cassidy River Trail, Spring Lake Nature Area, Sandy Ford Conservation Area or try disc golf at Marilla Park. Visit Weber House & Gardens and stroll the meandering paths of the beautiful two ace English garden and tour he storybook cottage reflective of the 18th century.

Streator City Park, 11 acres of shaded beauty, is home to the Veterans Plaza, two fountains, the Soderstorm Memorial, Plumb Memorial and Plumb Pavilion, the new state of the art band shell.

Please don't miss Pipe Dreams, a two-day organ festival and church tour, or summer performances at Eagle Lane Community Theater, Streator's July 4h celebration, Labor Day weekend's Roamer Cruise Night or the summertime concert series at the Plumb Pavilion.
